Basketball dominates January's slew of top plays

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.—The Carson-Newman Sports Information Department has released the top plays from the month of January that kicked off the 2017 year. 

The plays feature highlights from the hardwoods as the Eagles sported seven plays from the men's team with three more from the women. January's top play came from senior guard Kailyn Brooks (Lafayette, Tenn.) as the three-point specialist corralled her 1,000th point in an Eagle uniform.

Check back in on March 1 for the top plays of February. The next rundown of Carson-Newman top plays will be sure to include both baseball and softball as diamond sports begin Thursday, Feb. 2.
