JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Director of Athletics Allen Morgan has promoted  Elsie "Doodle" Johnson as Carson-Newman Athletics' new Eagle Club Director.

Johnson takes over for Mike Turner, who left the post when he was hired as Carson-Newman's new head football coach.

"Doodle has served the athletic department in many facets in an exemplary manner through the years," Morgan said. "She was tremendous support for Mike when he was director.  It was just a natural transition for her to continue the great work they had done in the past.  We expect the Eagle Club to continue to grow and flourish under her leadership."

Johnson was previously an administrative assistant in the department and director of promotions.  She has worked in the athletic department for a decade.

The Eagle Club is the fundraising arm of the athletic program at Carson-Newman. What began with a handful of dreamers willing to invest in their visions of athletic success has become an ever-growing host of enthusiastic supporters throughout the state and nation.

She and her husband Dennis have two children, Jackson and Jasmine, both of whom are Carson-Newman graduates.
