GREENWOOD, Ind. - Carson-Newman's athletic communications team tallied five awards at the College Sports Information Directors of America's (CoSIDA) Publications and Digital Design Contest.
The department was lauded for its football, volleyball, women's basketball and baseball game notes packages, as well as its national signing day gif.
Director of Athletic Communications Adam Cavalier won his second publications and digital design award with a third-place finish for Fall Sports Game Notes package in the College Division for his Carson-Newman football game notes. The Marshall University product won two CoSIDA Fred Stabley Writing contest awards ltwo years ago.
Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Michael Wottreng brought his career publications and digital design awards total to eight with a gold, a silver and a fourth-place finish. Wottreng Wottreng brought home gold for a second straight year in the Game Notes Winter Sports - College category for his work on Carson-Newman's women's basketball game notes. The Marquette graduate took silver in the Spring Sports Game Notes - College category for Carson-Newman's baseball game notes package after winning the category the last two years. He finished fourth in the Fall Sports Game Notes package for his volleyball notes.
Finally, Associate Director of Athletic Communications Danielle Whaley tallied her second CoSIDA honor with recognition in the Gif/Motion Graphic Category. She earned bronze.

The University of Tennessee alumna was recognized last year for her video feature on Carson-Newman football player Diantae Thomas' transition to Carson-Newman's split-back veer option attack.
These accolades bring the department's overall awards total to 16 from CoSIDA in the last four years. This year's haul of five honors is the most in a single year by the Carson-Newman athletic communications department.
