Mausner, Lange join Carson-Newman Athletic Communications

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Director of Athletic Communications Adam Cavalier has announced the hiring of Mark Mausner and Zach Lange as graduate assistants for Carson-Newman's Athletic Communications team.

Mausner comes south to Mossy Creek after graduating with his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Hofstra.  Meanwhile, Lange moves north to Jefferson City from Central Florida after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

"These two bring a wide swath of championship-caliber communications skills to us," Cavalier said. "Zach and Mark both set themselves apart in the application process.  They are adept, creative and invested communications professionals. We're thrilled to have them as a part of our team."

Lange will work with Carson-Newman's women's soccer, track & field and tennis programs in the fall.  Mausner will be C-N's media relations contact for cross country, swimming and tennis in the fall.  He will also take over hosting duties for pregame, halftime and postgame on the Eagle Sports Network for Carson-Newman football and basketball broadcasts.  Additionally, he will broadcast Carson-Newman soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball and select basketball games and produce the Mike Turner Show.

Mausner brings a wide variety of broadcast experience to Carson-Newman.  He interned with WABC-TV and Spectrum New NY1 while still in college before working with Showtime Sports as a production assistant for Inside the NFL.  While in college, he broadcast Hofstra baseball, basketball and soccer.

Meanwhile, Lange covered high school sports for the Orlando Sentinel while still in college, covering everything from football to women's soccer to tennis.  Simultaneously, he worked for eUnited as a team reporter covering esports for Call of Duty, Counter Strike: Global Offensive and SMITE.  He also worked with Nicholson Student Media to report on local issues affecting the Central Florida community.

Both individuals will start in early August.
