JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Registration is open for the inaugural Talon's Trot Homecoming 5k and fun run.
The race will take place Homecoming weekend at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 before Carson-Newman takes on the Newberry Wolves at 3 p.m.
The fee is 30 dollars for early registration, which is open until Saturday, October 12, 2019. The fee goes to 35 dollars after early registration ends. Registration can be done online until two days before the race (TALON'S TROT REGISTRATION) or in-person on the day of the race.
Participants will receive a Talon's Trot shirt and a goodie bag.
Talon's Trot starts outside Burke-Tarr Stadium, next to the ticket booth. The race will follow a path along Ken Sparks Way to Centennial Park and to Jefferson City's Historic Downtown. The race will loop around to follow through campus passing Butler Hall, Henderson Hall, Dougherty Science Building and back toward the football stadium past the Buddy Catlett Tennis Complex and the Vickee Kazee-Hollifield Softball complex before ending in Burke-Tarr Stadium at the north endzone.
The Fun Run will start outside Burke-Tarr Stadium, next to the ticket booth. Participants will follow Davis Street and turn left onto Russel Avenue. The race will take participants on a loop through the center of Carson-Newman's Campus and finish back on the football field.
