C-N to recognize five with distinguished service awards at Lincoln Memorial basketball game

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman's athletics department will present five individuals with distinguished service awards named after five previous directors of athletics during halftime of C-N's men's basketball game with Lincoln Memorial, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The awards are voted on and selected by Carson-Newman's Athletics Committee.  Nominations are open for the awards year round.  However, to be considered for next year's round of awards, nominations must be made by May 1, 2020.  The nomination form can be found here: cneagles.com/HallOfFame/DistinguishedServiceNom

The Frosty Holt Award is presented to an individual who best personifies the Athletic Department's vision of Glorifying Christ through "Comprehensive Excellence."  The inaugural recipient is Martha Wilson. 

The Ron Case Award is presented to an individual who has contributed a notable premier service to Carson-Newman University Athletics. The inaugural recipient is Greg Parman. 

The Ken Sparks Award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding commitment and philanthropic dedication to Carson-Newman University Athletics. The inaugural recipient is former C-N Football All-American Mark Isom.  

The David Barger Award is presented to a volunteer coach, staff member, or University administrator that has demonstrated exemplary leadership in furthering Carson-Newman University Athletics.  The inaugural recipient is Eddie Carter, the Eagles' former women's basketball mentor and current associate AD. 

The Allen Morgan Award is presented to a former Carson-Newman University student-athlete or Coach for notable accomplishments and life experience. The inaugural recipient is former C-N volleyball libero Angelle Hayes. 

In addition to the distinguished service awards, the athletics club will meet in MSAC 2000 at 4 p.m. prior to the hoops doubleheader.
