Franklin joins Carson-Newman Athletic Communications team

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman Associate AD for Athletic Communications and External Operations Adam Cavalier has announced the hiring of Justin Franklin as a graduate assistant for Carson-Newman's Athletic Communications team.

Franklin makes his way to Mossy Creek moving north from Shorter University, where he graduated with his undergraduate degree in communication studies with concentrations in public relations, advertising and digital production.  

"Justin brings a wide swath of championship-caliber communications skills to us," Cavalier said. "He set himself apart in the application process, and we believe he will be a tremendous fit for what we do in athletic communications.  Justin is adept, creative and an invested communications professional. We're thrilled to have him as a part of our team." 

Franklin will work with Carson-Newman's beach volleyball, golf and bass fishing teams as the primary media relations contact for the quartet of sports. Additionally, he will aid in video productions and broadcast content for all 21 of Carson-Newman's intercollegiate sports. 

While at Shorter, he was the football team's director of creative and digital content where he managed content for the teams social media accounts while creating multiple types of print media from game day programs to posters.  

He also worked with the Mountain Coast Radio Network in Rome, Ga.
