C-N places record 223 on SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman reset its record for most athletes placed on the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll with 223, the league office announced Friday.

This marks a fourth-consecutive record-setting year for the department after placing 145 on the list in 2020, 176 in 2021 and 197 last year. 

The increase this season is buoyed by the inclusion of the swim programs in their first years as members of the South Atlantic Conference.  

To be eligible for inclusion on the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must have competed in a sponsored championship sport and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher throughout the academic year. 

The Eagles 223 were a part of  2,886 student-athletes, spanning each of the conference's 13 member institutions, who were named to the 2022-23 SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. This marks a fourth consecutive year the league has had more than 2,000 student-athletes represented on its honor roll.
