JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson Newman University men's and women's track and field finished off their second day at East Tennessee State University's Buccaneer Invitational Meet today.
Sophomore Tiana Mill's leaped into the top -15 in the region with a distance of 5.75 meters (18'10.5") in the long jump.
"I was very pleased with Tiana," said coach David Needs. "We have been talking all season about excellence and today was proof of excellence".
Needs was also very pleased with freshman Tanner Step's (Jefferson City, Tenn.) second place finish in the high jump with a leap of 2.07 meters (6'9.50") and freshman Lachlan Dickie's (Knoxville, Tenn.) eighth place finish in the Men's 3000 meter run with a time 9:18.41.
Needs was also excited with how the 4x400 teams did and how much the times are better now than this time last year.
"Today was a step in the right direction," said Needs.
Next Saturday, the Eagles are at it again at the Tiger Indoor in Sewanee, Tenn.
