Eagles look to improve national standing at Roanoke/Virginia Tech Twilight Qualifier

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman track and field will head to the Old Dominion and the Mother of Presidents to compete in the Roanoke/Virginia Tech Twilight Qualifier in hopes of improving standing ahead of  the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Carson-Newman will send Randall Freeman, TJ Davis, Tanner Stepp, Tiana Mills, Samantha Gudger and Kristin Chapman to compete in  the event.

The Eagles will be competing fairly exclusively in events involving leaping, reinforcing  the school's moniker as "Jump U."

Freeman will try to up his bests in the triple jump while Davis and Stepp will compete in the long and high jumps, respectively. 

Meanwhile, for the women, Mills will try to improve upon her  leaps in the long and triple jumps.  Gudger and Chapman both will try set new high water marks in the high jump.

The Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin on May 21.
