Montreat College Invitational Results

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Carson-Newman hit double-digit victories on Saturday, March 30 at the Montreat College Invitational from Pulliam Stadium/Howard Fisher Memorial Field to break a program record for most first-place finishes in the last five years.

The total of 10 comes after Coach David Needs' squad collected nine two weeks ago at the Lenoir-Rhyne Southside Power & Fitness Invitational.

"A lot of people showed up big today," Needs said. "In new events and across all events they stepped up. We had a lot of athletes show tremendous improvement even though it may be overshadowed by the victories but the strides we took as a team today was phenomenal. You can celebrate each and every one of those performances across the board and now you know the team is trending in the right direction for conference and regionals."

A time of 10.40 seconds from Devon Moore in the 100-meter dash brought first-place honors for the sophomore for the second time this season, .18 seconds under the NCAA Division II Provisional time.
