JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman baseball team opens the 2016 regular season Tuesday at Limestone looking to hold up the South Atlantic Conference Tournament trophy at Smokies Park debuting its hype video Sunday afternoon.
Coach Tom Griffin enters his 11th season at Mossy Creek nearing 500 wins for his career and returns all-region selection Vince Apicella (Dillsburg, Pa.) on the mound and three-year starter Brandon Roberts in the field.
With a bevy of new players joining the returning group, the Eagles have high expectations heading into the season.
First pitch is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon against the Saints while the home opener is scheduled for Feb. 12 against UVA-Wise. All games will be broadcast on cneagles.com/live with a pregame show featuring interviews with players and coaches.
