Bradley named to SAC Baseball All-Tournament Team

KODAK, Tenn. – Freshman right-hander Matt Bradley was named to the 2018 Pilot/Flying J South Atlantic Conference Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.

In an elimination game against Anderson on Saturday afternoon, the Talbott, Tenn. native tossed his first-career complete game throwing 128 pitches, 88 for strikes. He punched out a career-high 11 allowing one earned run on six base hits and one walk.

"It does help a lot," Bradley said. "My first conference game when I was a freshman in high school was here. That helped a lot. I pitched a couple times here so being familiar with the park – that always helps."

For the season, the rookie started four games appearing in nine total going 3-1 with a save and a 2.14 earned run average. He struck out 33 batters in 33 2/3 innings. Since the program joined the Division II Era, Bradley's ERA of 2.14 was the third-best for a C-N hurler behind Mike Mullen's 1.16 in 2011 and Gavin Scroggins tally of 1.59 in 2016 for a pitcher that threw at least 25 innings.
