Eagles up two spots in DII Baseball’s poll

DII Baseball Rankings

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In Division II Baseball's latest set of top 25 rankings, Carson-Newman moved up two spots to No. 22 in the poll that was released to the public on Monday afternoon.

This is the third time and second straight week that DII Baseball has ranked C-N in the top 25.

Carson-Newman is off to its best conference start since 2021 with a 10-2 league record through four series. Head coach Tom Griffin's team is coming off a road conference sweep of Limestone over the weekend, the program's first road conference sweep in six seasons.

The Eagles are joined by South Atlantic Conference schools and future opponents Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne in the rankings. The Indians moved up to sixth and the Bears jumped them and went up three spots to fifth, despite both teams only winning two of their three league games over the weekend. C-N plays both schools in back-to-back weekend series' in mid-April.

Carson-Newman is one of six Southeast region schools ranked by DII baseball. North Greenville is seventh, Mount Olive is 17th and Young Harris is 19th.

In total, 13 of the 40 teams in the top 25 and receiving votes are from the Southeast region.

Carson-Newman is in action again at home tomorrow versus Tusculum. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex.
