Eagles dismantle Ohio State-Mansfield, 91-48

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Eagles built a 39-point halftime lead en route to a 91-48 drubbing of Ohio State-Mansfield on Saturday afternoon at the LMU Classic.

Four Eagles reached double figures in the win as no one played more than 24 minutes for C-N. Sophomore Antoine Davis and Ishmael Sanders led the way. Davis was 7-of-14 from the floor and finished with a game-high 18 points, while Sanders finish with 14.

Freshman Elliott Pope posted a career high for the second straight night with 13 points. He was 6-of-10 from the floor. Sophomore Ray Likely added 12 as the Eagles cruised.

C-N built an early 22-6 at the 12:55 mark of the opening half on a jumper by Corbin Jackson. The Eagles would extend their lead out to 39-10 on a pair of dunks by Julian McBee and Kennedy Eubanks to put the game out of reach with still six minutes to play in the first half.

A steal by Likely at the 3:00 minute mark and a layup by Marcellous Perez move the first-half lead out to its largest margin at 39 points, 51-12.

A layup by freshman Jared Johnson and a three by Sanders would give the Eagles their largest lead of the afternoon at 82-35.

Carson-Newman returns to action on Wednesday in its South Atlantic Conference home opener against Catawba. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. in Holt Fieldhouse.
