Eagles check back into D2SIDA Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Carson-Newman's men's basketball program has climbed back into the D2SIDA Media Poll Top 25.

The Eagles vault from the receiving votes section to No. 24 for the Feb. 6 iteration of the poll.  The Eagles climbed as high as 18th this season in the media rankings.  This is the fourth week they've spent this season nationally ranked.

The Eagles are receiving votes in the NABC Coaches Poll, and sit four spots outside the top 25.

C-N also spent one week ranked in the NABC Poll earlier this year.  Carson-Newman was ranked 23rd by the coaches the same week they were 20th in the media poll.

Carson-Newman is one of three South Atlantic Conference schools featured in the rankings.  Lincoln Memorial is the number one team in the country accoring to both media and coaches polls.  Queens is ranked second in the coaches poll and third in the media poll.

The ranking sets up a top 25 matchup Saturday against the Royals.

Tipoff Saturday against Queens is set for 4 p.m.  Pregame coverage begins at 3:45 on the Eagle Sports Network with the AEC Countdown to Tipoff on Mountain Country 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live.
