Another one, Clark picks up AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week honors again

ROCK HILL, S.C. - For a record-tying fifth time this season and record-extending 11th time in his career, senior guard Charles Clark (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Clark's 11 career honors have him firmly first all-time in league history for career player of the week honors. The fifth award of his senior moves him into a tie with Tusculum's Kyle Moore for the single-season record for most player of the week awards in one year.  Moore earned the honor five times during the 2008-09 season.  Clark has been named the league's player of the week four times this year.

The senior helmed to a pair of 100-point performances and a 2-0 week.  Clark got the Eagles started against Tusculum with a 112-103 win before capping the week off with his first career win in Salisbury, N.C. and a 104-89 win at Catawba.

Clark averaged 30 points, six rebounds and four assists while shooting 73.1 percent from the field for the week.  He also has knocked down 28 consecutive free throws, including 18 in the two games last week.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn.-native started the week with his 14th career 30-point effort against Tusculum.  He scored 32 against the Pioneers. He also grabbed eight boards and handed out four assists while knocking down 10-of-12 shots.

Against Catawba, Clark netted 28 points with four boards and four assists.

Clark and the rest of the Eagles are in action Wednesday at LMU.  Pregame coverage begins at 7:45 with the AEC Countdown top Tipoff on Mountain Country 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live
