Teichmann touted as TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the second time this season, Carson-Newman senior guard Grant Teichmann (Brentwood, Tenn.) has been named the Tennessee Sportswriters' Association State Player of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon. 

Teichmann also won the award on Nov. 19 after the Eagles down King and Lees-McRae. 

This time, the senior gets the honor after a 1-1 week for the Eagles.  He scored 15 points with eight boards and eight assists in an 87-79 win over Anderson before matching his career high with 26 points four boards and four assists in a tight 81-77 loss to No. 9 Queens Saturday.

Teichmann was dialed in from long range on the week.  He knocked down eight threes on 17 attempts for the week.  He averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists for the week. 

His shooting percentages were fantastic.  He made 50 percent of his shots from the field, 47.1 percent of his threes and went 3-for-4 at the line.  He had a 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
