KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman Eagles spent the first day of their fall break with a two-hour morning practice in a light rain, before heading to Knoxville for an afternoon of hospital visits and free labor in the Knoxville area.

Head coach Ken Sparks and the Eagles split up into four groups for an afternoon of community service.

One group went to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, while another, the Eagle offensive line and coach Mike Turner went to make visits at Children's Hospital. The Eagles also visited patients at Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center.

A fourth group, full of C-N quarterbacks and running backs, were stuck with the manual labor, helping with heavy lifting and moving boxes and stuffing envelopes at the Hope Resource Center.
