JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman football coach Ken Sparks has announced the times for the remainder of the Eagles' football games.
The Eagles will play home games against Brevard, Catawba and Newberry at 1 p.m. The homecoming game against Tusculum has been slated for a 3 p.m. kickoff. Road tilts at Mars Hill and Shorter begin at 2 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
The 2013 campaign marks Ken Sparks' 34th season at the helm of the Eagle football program. Sparks sits at 308 wins – ninth on the all-time wins list. He is six wins away from equaling Roy Kidd (Eastern Kentucky) and Amos Alonzo Stagg's (University of Chicago) 314 wins and moving into a tie for sixth place. Sparks sits 15 wins back of Bear Bryant (Alabama) and fifth place with 323 wins.
The Eagles open the season Thursday, Sept. 5 against Wayne State at 7 p.m. at Burke-Tarr Stadium. The Warriors were the national runners-up in 2011.
