SAC Announces 2015-18 Football Schedules, Introduces Limestone as Scheduling Partner

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The SAC released its 2015-18 conference football schedule, which includes a new scheduling alliance with Limestone College.  Both the future schedule and the agreement with Limestone were recently approved by the SAC Athletic Directors Council.

Carson-Newman will travel to Limestone on Halloween, Oct. 31, of 2015 before the Saints make their first trek to Mossy Creek on Oct. 29 of the following year.

From 2015-18, the SAC schedule will remain a true round-robin format, with each school playing seven conference games.  Every SAC team will also face Limestone each year from 2015-18, alternating home and away.  Those games, however, will not count towards the conference standings.

The 2015 and 2016 schedules have formally been approved by the league's ADs, while the 2017 and 2018 schedules have been tentatively approved.

"With the release of the 2015-18 schedule, our schools, their alumni and fans can start making plans and looking towards an exciting future of SAC football," said SAC commissioner Patrick Britz.

"We are also pleased to have reached a scheduling agreement with Limestone College for these four years," Britz added.  "SAC teams struggle to find in-region, non-conference opponents, and this guarantees them at least one every year."

Limestone, located in Gaffney, S.C., will play its inaugural football season in 2014.  The Saints will be coached by Bobby Jones, a former defensive coordinator at Wingate.
