JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman Athletic Promotions staff has set promotions for all of C-N football's home games.
The season opener against Wayne State on Sept. 5 has been designated Eagle Spirit Day. Carson-Newman students are encouraged to wear their craziest outfits. Students can win prizes for being the "best" dressed – up to 25 dollars.
In partnership with the NCAA, the Brevard game has been designated Take a Kid to the Game Day. Entering its 18th year with NCAA Football, the Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program provides NCAA member institutions with an opportunity for community outreach as it introduces area youth to its athletics programs. Children can enjoy a variety of activities in conjunction with the game.
Fans are encouraged to eschew the traditional orange and blue for the Catawba game and, instead, wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness.
The rivalry showdown on Oct. 19 with Tusculum is homecoming, but Carson-Newman's SAC runner-up baseball team will be honored, and the softball team will play host to a reunion.
When Newberry comes to town to close out the regular season at Burke-Tarr Stadium, the Eagles will honor their senior players, members of the military and those affiliated with the Baptist Builders.
