JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman team physician Dr. Matt Rappe has been lauded as the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society Sports Medicine Person of the Year.
"He cares about every one of our student athletes. He cares about getting them back on the field as quick as he possibly can," Carson-Newman Director of Sports Medicine Mike Van Bruggen said. "He cares about our athletes getting the best health care they can possibly get. He's all in for Carson-Newman athletics and I wouldn't trade him for any other team physician in America."
Rappe was honored during a ceremony Sunday afternoon.
