Dungy to headline Carson-Newman Football Coaching Clinic for second straight year

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the second consecutive year, Super Bowl Champion head coach and NBC football analyst Tony Dungy will headline the Carson-Newman Championship Coaching Clinic March 7-9 at the Music Road Hotel and Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. 

Indianapolis Colts QB coach Clyde Christensen, former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier, former NFL linebacker and University of Miami linebacker coach Michael Barrow, Alabama wide receivers coach Billy Napier, Buford High School head coach Jess Simpson and adventurist Dr. Farris Jordan round out the lineup of speakers.

Tony Dungy

Former professional football player and coach in the National Football League. Dungy was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 to 2001, and head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2002 to 2008.  Dungy became the first African American head coach to win the Super Bowl.

Clyde Christensen

Quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He has been a coach for the Colts since 2002.

Leslie Frazier

NFL football coach and former player.  He is the current defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He served as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2011 to 2013.

Michael Barrow

Former college and professional football player, who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons. He played college football for the University of Miami, and was honored as an All-American.  Current linebacker coach at Univ. of Miami.

Billy Napier

Wide Receiver Coach for University of Alabama.  Napier joined the Crimson Tide staff after serving as the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach at Colorado State in 2012 for former Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain.

Jess Simpson

Head Coach @ Buford High School in Buford, GA.  - Has maintained an inside-out approach for success.  Overall Record of 95 - 6 as Buford's Head Coach - State Champions in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and State Runner Up in 2011.  The Buford Football Team has played for the State Championship 10 times since 2000, amassing an overall record of 167 – 9, and winning seven of those Championships in 12 years and three State Runners Up. In 2010 the Wolves tied the Georgia High School record of 4 Consecutive State Championships with their victory.

Dr. Farris Jordan

Licensed psychologist, adventurist and author of four books and numerous articles on the prevention of mental and physical illness.
