Tony Dungy's speech to the C-N football team

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Super Bowl Champion head coach and NFL on NBC analyst Tony Dungy told Carson-Newman's football players to follow Christ in a speech to the team Friday afternoon.

Dungy was in town to speak at the Carson-Newman Football Championship Coaching Clinic in Pigeon Forge Friday night.

"Don't overlook the chance to grow spiritually," Dungy said as he closed his talk. "You think you've got forever, and you can make a decision (to follow Christ) at 40.  We don't know, you may not have that opportunity for yourself to grow, or to help others to grow."

Following the presentation, Dungy took pictures with members of Carson-Newman's football team.

The Eagles will practice in front of coaches attending and presenting at the coaching clinic Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

C-N wraps up its spring practice Tuesday at 4 p.m. with its annual Orange and Blue spring game.
