PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Day Two of the 2014 Championship Coaching Clinic wrapped up with an hour and 45 minute full pads practice at Burke-Tarr Stadium, attended by coaches, wives and clinic guests Saturday afternoon.

The day began early with two programs aimed at praising and strengthening the familial ties in a football program and in a coach's life. Both Indianapolis Colts quarterback coach Clyde Christensen and former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier opened the day with their thoughts on the importance of a coach's spouse in the development and success of a football program and forging a family out of a group of men from different backgrounds and experiences. Wives were encouraged to attend and many joined their husbands for the event.

Before lunch, the Xs and Os took center stage as University of Alabama wide receivers coach Billy Napier commandeered the podium and multiple large video screens to describe the nuances of a successful passing attack.

Former NFL linebacker and current University of Miami linebackers coach Michael Barrow shared his defensive strategies, honed from a 12-year NFL career.

Jess Simpson, the legendary Buford High School Coach addressed the group on coaching keys to success and how helping develop a player form the inside out can not only make better young men, but lead to wins and championships.

At Carson-Newman, the football team ran drills and a full-pad practice in front of a crowded sideline and end zone as the Eagles continue their Spring Practice session culminating in Tuesday's Orange and Blue Spring Football game at Burke-Tarr Stadium.

The Championship Coaching Clinic wraps up Sunday with a worship fellowship and musical performances from Ray Graham and Sandy Weiss.
