Eagles add Florida athlete to recruiting class
JEFFESON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman football has announced the signing of Homestead, Fla., defensive back/wide receiver Desmond Fairell. Fairell brings Carson-Newman's signing class to 48.

Fairell starred at Miami Senior High School for coach Ivan Rosales.  As a senior, he hauled in 29 catches for 513 yards and five touchdowns.  Defensively, he produced 42 tackles, with a pair of fumbles forced and recovered.  He also had three sacks, a pick and two defensive scores.

He earned All-Dade County honors following his senior campaign with the Stingrays. 

The son of Tawana Fairell, he intends to study business at Carson-Newman and selected the Eagles over Appalachian State, Florida International, Kansas and Northern Iowa.
