Percy announces class schedule changes in conjunction with football’s opening game

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Provost Dr. Paul Percy has announced that classes taking place during Carson-Newman football's 1:30 p.m. game Sept. 1 with Humboldt State have been cancelled. 

Percy made the announcement via an email to faculty, staff and students.   

"This is great opportunity to bring national attention to Carson-Newman University," Percy wrote. "And for the Carson-Newman community to support our athletes"

All classes between 1:30 p.m. and 4:45 will be cancelled.  Thursday evening classes at 6:00 p.m. will still meet as scheduled.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., a tailgate lunch will be available on the practice field adjacent to Burke-Tarr Stadium for all Carson-Newman faculty, staff and students. 

The matchup between Carson-Newman and Humboldt State will be available on ESPN 3 as well as the Eagle Sports Network.  Coverage of the game can be heard locally on Joy 620 (WRJZ-AM, Knoxville), Mountain Country 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and online worldwide at cneagles.com/live.
