Carson-Newman football to screen God's Not Dead 2 Thursday with second annual movie on the turf

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -  Carson-Newman football will play host to a screening of the film God's Not Dead 2 August 25 at 8:30 p.m. on the Eagle Vision scoreboard at Burke-Tarr Stadium.

The event is part of Carson-Newman's orientation week festivities and is open to all members of the public and is free. 

"We're excited about hosting a movie we think will impact a lot of lives for the Lord," head coach Ken Sparks said. "We also want this to be an opportunity for members of the Carson-Newman community, the Jefferson City community, the Jefferson County community and beyond to fellowship with us and be inspired to honor the Lord a little bit more."

God's Not Dead 2 is a 2016 American Christian drama film directed by Harold Cronk and stars Melissa Joan HartJesse MetcalfeDavid A. R. WhiteHayley Orrantia, and Sadie Robertson. It is the sequel to the 2014 film God's Not Dead and was released on April 1, 2016. It was the final film role for Fred Thompson.

Church youth groups are encouraged to attend. Blankets are encouraged for fans sitting on the turf, the bleachers will also be open.
