Each Sunday during the 2016-17 school year, the Carson-Newman athletic communications department will shine a spotlight on a current or former Carson-Newman student-athlete looking to tell a tale of life outside of his or her respective sport.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.-- Carson-Newman football assistant Tony Ierulli was selected for this week's Sunday Conversation.

Ierulli has coached at the college level for 36 years and was named the 2002 NCAA Dvision II Assistant Football coach of the Year. The 57-year-old has made numerous stops along the way to Mossy Creek having been a former defensive coordinator and head coach during his career.

The coach has instructed two current NFL players-- John Kuhn and Brent Grimes-- while also making proffessional relationships with countless FBS coaches from around the nation.
