Promotions announced for seven home football games

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman's athletic department has announced a slew of promotions for its 2017 slate of home football games.

Tickets are available by calling 865-471-3396.

The season starts Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. against Pikeville. That night is AEC Appreciation Night.  The game will also feature a halftime tribute to former Carson-Newman head football coach Ken Sparks.

Carson-Newman's Office of Student Activities will also play host to a kickoff tailgate party on the football practice field for C-N students from 5-6:30 p.m. leading up to the game.  That event is a part of the university's Welcome Week festivities.

Week two brings Saint Augustine's to town.  The contest has been designated an orange out.

An alumni/Eagle Club tailgate will be held in conjunction with Carson-Newman's Sept. 23 contest with Newberry.  Interested parties should email djohnson@cn.edu or areed@cn.edu for details.

The Eagles' final home game in September against Catawba has been designed Take a Kid to the Game Day.  Children ages 13 and under will be admitted for free.

After two weeks on the road, the Eagles return home Oct. 21 for homecoming against North Greenville.

Oct. 28's rivalry meeting with Tusculum has been designated a pink out in support of breast cancer awareness.

C-N's finale on Nov. 11 against UNC Pembroke is Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day.

All of Carson-Newman's games will be broadcast on the Eagle Sports Network on Joy 620 (WRJZ-AM, Knoxville), Mountain Country 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live.
