CLEMMONS, N.C. — The Carson-Newman men’s golf team
shot a 303 on Tuesday to finish in seventh place with a three-day
total of 896 (+56) at the Will Wilson/Southeast Regional Preview,
hosted by Belmont Abbey at the par 70 Tanglewood Park Championship
Course.
The Eagles finished 17 strokes back of tournament champion Barton
College (879), who tallied a final-round 296 to hold off USC-Aiken
(881). C-N finished ahead of South Atlantic Conference rivals
Wingate (906) and Newberry (920).
Senior Brad Robinson (Johnson City, Tenn.) led the way for the
Eagles as he carded an even-par 70 for the second-straight day to
finish in sole possession of fifth place with a three-round total
of 212 (+2).
Sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) carded a 78 for a
three-round total of 226 (+16) to end the tournament in a tie for
30th, while Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio) tied for 41st with a 229 (+19)
after a final round 81.
John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) and Gavin Hay (Glasgow,
Scotland) rounded out field for C-N with scores of 235 and 237,
respectively.
Flagler’s Chris Bray followed up Monday’s 66 with a
one-over 71 to win medalist honors by one stroke over
USC-Aiken’s Frederik Schulte, Lander’s Charlie Hoyle
and Barton’s Thomas Muto, Jr.

wrapped up the fall portion of C-N’s schedule.
