STILLWATER, Okla. – For the second straight year, Carson-Newman men's golfer Tom Forster (Oundle, England) has landed on the Golf Coaches Association of America's Division II PING All-Southeast Region team.
This marks the third consecutive year an Eagle has received the honor.
Currently ranked 30th in the nation according to Golfstat, Forster's sophomore season has been filled with highlights, especially in the spring portion. His first career tournament win came at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. There he shot a three-round score of 203, marking the second-lowest 54-hole score in South Atlantic Conference history.
Weeks later, he notched the top medalist honor at the SAC Championship as the Eagles defended their conference title. The two-time All-SAC First Team member was five-under in the event thanks to a strong third round where he carded a 68.
With a tie for 15th at the South/Southeast Regional, Forster became the first Eagle in a decade to advance to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships Final.
Up until the national championship, he had crafted a team-best eight top 20 finishes throughout the season, with six coming in the top 10.
