INDIANAPOLIS – In the first batch of Golfstat team rankings released on Wednesday morning, the Carson-Newman men's golf team landed at No. 21 in the nation.

The Eagles are also ranked nationally in the Golf Coaches of America Association's Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, sitting at eighth in the poll that was released in late September.

Coach Randy Wylie's team already wrapped up its fall slate, holding a 190-215 comparative ranking through three events, 2-9 against Top-25 teams in Golfstat's ranking.

C-N is one of the 15 teams in the ranking that has won an event this season, that being the Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State. That finish was highlighted by a 10-under final round that helped the team to notch its lowest 54-hole total in three years.

The field in Columbus was full of nationally-touted teams including No. 12 Florida Southern, No. 3 Lynn, No. 2 Florida Tech and No. 13 Limestone.

Outside of that win, the Eagles tied for sixth in the season-opener at the Coker Fall Challenge and wrapped up the season with a ninth-place finish at the Shark Invitational.

Carson-Newman is one of three South Atlantic Conference teams included in the rankings, the other two being No. 16 Lincoln Memorial and No. 22 Wingate.

Junior Tom Forster (Oundle, England) recorded Top-20 performances in all three of the fall events, including a second-place finish at the Coker Fall Challenge, helping him to land at 14th in the nation in Golfstat's player rankings. He holds an even stroke average of 71. He is currently the only C-N men's golfer ranked nationally.

With the fall portion of the scheduled concluded, the Eagles await the beginning of their spring slate.
