INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time since February 2018, Carson-Newman sits at No. 15 in the nation according to the latest Golfstat poll released on Wednesday morning.

This latest move for the Eagles is just one spot higher than where they landed a week ago.

Carson-Newman is also sitting nationally in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, holding a No. 21 position as of March 8.

The Eagles just notched a third-place finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. It was their third-straight top three finish in the event while giving them four-straight such finishes on the season.

The Orange and Blue crew had five of its six participants land in the top 10 of the field as the team scored a five-under 54 hole score of 859.

Tom Forster (Northamptonshire, England) led C-N by the end of the tournament with a five-under performance that was good enough for seventh place.

The junior moved up two spots to No. 8 in the nation according to Golfstat's national player rankings, as well. He holds an adjusted scoring average of 70.8 through 20 rounds of play.

One other team from the South Atlantic Conference joins C-N in the top 25 of the nation this week, that being Lincoln Memorial at No. 11.

Carson-Newman will take a week away from tournament play before heading to Lenoir City, Tenn. for the regular season finale at the Tennessee River Rumble. The two-day event begins on April 1 from the WindRiver Golf Club.
