NORMAN, Okla. – For a third consecutive season, Tom Forster (Northamptonshire, England) had been tabbed a PING All-American, this time landing on the second team list, as announced by the Golf Coach Association of America on Wednesday afternoon.
Forster's latest accolade gives him the highest placement of an Eagle on the list in program history. He was pegged an Honorable Mention selection last season while landing on the third team as a freshman. He, Andrew Hall (2016) and Mark Sweeney (2000) are the only All-Americans the program has seen in the NCAA era (1992-present), both others selected as honorable mentions in their time.
This season, Forster made the semifinalist list for the Jack Nicklaus Award before gaining his third-straight All-Southeast Region nod from the GCAA and PING.
The three-time All-South Atlantic Conference selection an impressive junior campaign, leading the team with an adjusted scoring average of 71.5 through 28 rounds of play. That clip now leads the program for the best scoring average in a single season, giving him the top three spots on the list. He made the starting lineup in all 10 of the team's events, serving as the No. 1 seed for the Orange and Blue in nine of those tournaments.
He reeled in seven top-10 finishes on the year with three in the top-five. His lone win on the season came at the Southern Tide Classic with a 12-under three-round total, giving him his third career win. His 202 total in the event marked a new career-low and tied for the second-lowest 54-hole round score in South Atlantic Conference history.
Forster carded the team's lowest round score of 67 three times during the season.
