Final Results

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Carson-Newman fired its best round of the week with a 282 on Tuesday to close out the Queens Invitational in sixth-place.

"Good final round from the Eagles today," Carson-Newman coach Randy  Wylie said. "While we're not thrilled with our overall finish, we showed a lot of improvement and heart. Definitely looking for more consistency from my team as we go forward."

The Eagles were two-under through their last 18 holes of play, one of just three teams to shoot in the red during the last round. Their 49 birdies throughout the entire event were the third-most in the field.

Alex Hodge (Knoxville, Tenn.) logged a second-straight red round, shooting one-under on Tuesday to tie for ninth. He shot for birdie three times with two bogeys. He was three-under for the event with a 210, his second-lowest 54-hole score with the Eagles. Through his first three events in the Orange and Blue, the junior has finished in the top 10 twice.

Hodge was six-under on par-5 holes, tying for second in the tournament for such scoring.

One shot behind Hodge was Tom Forster (Oundle, England) at two-under with a share of 13th at 211. He was even on the day with four birdies and bogeys to head to the clubhouse with a 71.

The senior was five-under on par-4s, the third-best showing on such holes in the tournament field. Both Forster and Hodge accounted for 13 birdies through the 54 holes, tying for fifth-most.

Both Fintan McKenna (Aberdeen, Scotland) and Jake Mynatt (Knoxville, Tenn.) found themselves in a tie for 51st by the end of Tuesday with a seven-over 220.

McKenna matched his opening-round score of 71 with a pair of bogeys and birdies to stay even on the day. Mynatt was able to stay under par on Tuesday with a one-under 70, his lowest round of the week. The sophomore carded a team-high five birdies in the final round.

Trailing the duo by 15 shots was Fergus Robinson (Towcester, England), in a tie for 96th at 22-over. The junior fired his lowest round of the week with a 75, pushing his 54-hole total to 235. He avoided double-bogey territory for the first time in the tournament but carded six bogeys with just two birdies.

No. 2/3 Georgia Southwestern won the tournament title with a 17-under performance. No. 18/16 Lincoln Memorial came in second at 15-under while No. 3/10 USC Aiken slipped into third at 11-under.

USC Aiken's Leo Johansson and Georgia Southwestern's Vincent Norman tied for the top spot on the player board with an eight-under 205. LMU's Dan Bradbury took third at six-under.

The Eagles face just one more event before they head into their winter break, making a jaunt across the Volunteer State for the NCAA Regional Preview at the Irene Country club in Memphis, Tenn. That two-day event begins on Oct. 28.
