C-N ties Cumberlands in home exhibition game

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman tied the University of the Cumberlands in a home preseason match 2-2 Wednesday night.

 

Junior transfer Ross Frame (Welshpool, Powys, United Kingdom) scored the first goal for the Eagles. Kristian Speak (Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom) took a free kick that deflected off the crossbar. Frame conontrolled the rebound and volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

 

The second goal came from Nick Skoda (Knoxville, Tenn.), a junior transfer from Appalachian State University. Skoda received a cross from Marius Staalby (Trondheim, Norway) and nailed a one-timer to put Carson-Newman up by two.

 

The Patriots put scored their first goal during the second half. They then tied it up with a penalty.

 

The men head out on Saturday to face Lander at 3:00 p.m. in another exhibition match.
