Frame named SAC Player of the Week for second time this season

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman men's soccer player Ross Frame (Welshpool, Powys, United Kingdom) garnered SAC Player of the Week for the second time of the 2013 fall season.

"This is very exciting to have the Player of the Week again," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "The last time he got it was the first time we've had it in three years. Now we got two in one month."

Frame won Player of the Week for the first time on Oct. 8. He was Carson-Newman's first men's soccer honoree since 2010.

This week, Frame had part in all six goals the Eagles tallied up with their 2-0 win over Milligan and a 4-0 victory against Coker. He contributed a goal and an assist against the Buffaloes on Wednesday and supplied a hat trick and an assist against the Cobras on Saturday roping in 10 points on the week.

"Ross works hard and plays hard," Moodie said. "We're looking forward to hopefully having more candidates for All-Conference at the end of the year."

Now, Frame leads the conference in points with 32, assists with eight, and is tied for first in goals with 12. He is third in overall shots with 54.

On a national level, Frame is sixth in points, tied for eighth in goals, tied for sixth in assists per game, and tied for seventh in assists.

"Obviously we're very excited," Moodie said, "but Ross would tell you he'd be happier if we won team awards rather than individual ones. We just have to buckle down and try and finish out our last four games of the season and see where we end up."
