Six Eagles honored with with All-SAC selections, Frame named league’s player of the year

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman's men's soccer team raked in six all-SAC selections including the league's Player of the Year award. 

 

Forward Ross Frame (Welshpool, Powys, United Kingdom) earned All-Conference first team and Player of the Year honors. He ended regular season leading the conference with 39 points, 15 goals and nine assists. He was second in shots with 41, and tied for second with three game winners. His 15 goals are the seventh most in a single season in Carson-Newman history and the 39 points rank sixth for a single season all-time.  The nine assists are tied for fourth most. 

 

Sindre Welo (Trondheim, Norway) made first team as a midfielder. He was tied for fourth in the conference with six assists. Welo also had five goals, two of which were game winners, bringing him to 16 points on the year, second highest for the Eagles.

 

Senior captain and goalkeeper Rumwald Le Guevel (Vannes, France) was also named to first team. He ended regular season second in the SAC in both saves with 73, and a .793 save percentage.

 

The Eagles had three defenders who were honorable mention All-SAC.

 

Senior captain Matheus Bachi (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) ended the season with four goals, two game winners, one assist, and nine overall points.

 

Senior Christopher Trejo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) was an essential part of the Eagles' defensive line and assisted in the seven game win streak that ended their regular season.

 

Rurik Pereira (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was also a crucial part of C-N's defense. He had four assists ending the year with a total of four points.
