Frame named to Daktronics All-American Second Team

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Junior transfer Ross Frame (Welshpool, Powys, United Kingdom) represented Carson-Newman in the Daktronics All-American selections with his Second Team honors Wednesday afternoon.

"We're ecstatic," Carson-Newman head soccer coach Richard Moodie said. "He's my first All-American as coach. He works hard; he's earned it."

Frame is C-N's first All-American since 2008 and the program's 10th overall.

"It's a great honor to get individual awards, especially on a national scale," Frame said, "and I'm very proud to receive the award while playing for Carson-Newman. I never expected to win such awards especially my first year playing."

Frame currently leads the Eagles and South Atlantic Conference with 18 goals, 10 assists, and 46 overall points. His 18 goals are fifth most in a single season in Carson-Newman history. Ryan Williams holds the record with 23 from the 1995 campaign. His 46 points are the most in a single season for Carson-Newman this century and third most all-time.

"Ever since day one everyone, players and coaches have been brilliant," Frame said. "This is a team award from my point of view. Without my teammates and coaches, none of this would be possible. I'm thankful for all they've done this year."

The 18 goals tie Frame for seventh in the nation. He is tied for ninth in the nation with 10 assists.

Frame was named the 2013 All-Southeast Region Player of the Year.

"Coach Moodie has been fantastic," Frame said, "and all that's left to do now is go on and win the national championship. That's been the target from day one and once we've won this weekend, we can look back on these awards!"

Frame was also named SAC Player of the Year. Throughout the course of the season, Frame received three Player of the Week awards. He was Carson-Newman's first men's soccer player of the week honoree since 2010.

"For his first year transitioning over it's not bad," Moodie said. "We're excited about his future and looking forward to hopefully seeing him score more tomorrow."

There is more of Frame to be seen this year as the Eagles' season continues against Simon Fraser in its first trip to the Final Four in program history. The match takes place tomorrow at 8 p.m. in Evans, Ga. and can be followed live at http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2013/12/05.
