Tailgate, pep bus, watch party set for soccer national championship

EVANS, Ga. – In celebration of "The Lads" appearance in the NCAA Division II National Title game for the first time in school history, Carson-Newman's Office of Alumni Relations, Athletic Department and Division of Student Affairs are sponsoring a variety of activities surrounding the event, Saturday. 

Stokely Memorial Cafeteria will open at 3 p.m. for another watch party open to all Carson-Newman students, faculty, staff and the Jefferson City community. 

The Office of Alumni Relations will play host to a tailgate on the upper soccer fields at Blanchard Woods Park at the Final Four site. The office is supplying Firehouse Subs for the event, which begins at 1:30 p.m..

Finally, the Division of Student Affairs is chartering a 42-passenger bus for students at no charge. The bus filled up in the first two hours it was announced. To get on a waiting list in the event a seat opens up, students should email Ross Brummett at rbrummett@cn.edu.

The Eagles and Southern New Hampshire Penmen kick off at 3 p.m. with the national title on the line.
