Men's soccer versus Anderson

A 90th-minute goal scored by a senior Lukas Jokich propelled the Lads past the Anderson Trojans on Senior Night at McCown Field. Needing a win or tie to clinch a home match during the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals, Jokich's first game in a C-N kit was the biggest match of the season. Junior defender James Ward opened the scoring in the 36th-minute with a goal off a corner kick, but Anderson equalized early in the second half. Cue Jokick's entry to the contest in the 76th-minute and subsequent goal 13 minutes later on a cross from Joao Pedro Dowsley

Women's soccer versus Mars Hill

The Eagles scored four unanswered second half goals to pick up their first SAC win of the season with the 4-1 win of the season. Heading into the contest, the team had not won a game in which they had conceded the first goal of the match. The Lions scored off a free kick in the 28th-minute to give Mars Hill the 1-0 lead at the halftime break. After the break, Carson-Newman shot out of the gate with two goals in the first 11 minutes. Freshman Camilla Olsson scored off a set piece when the Mars Hill goalkeeper misplayed the ball. Seven minutes later, it was fellow freshman Helen Seed's chance to score as she headed in a Gabrielle Gianeselli corner kick. Sophomore Nora Logan scored eight minutes later with a strike from the top of the 18-yard box to push the lead to 3-1 and fellow sophomore Chelsea Jordan capped off the scoring with a penalty kick in the 88th-minute for the Eagles 4-1 victory.
