C-N breaks into national ranking at No. 17
 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since 2017, Carson-Newman has made its way back into the United Soccer Coaches' national rankings, now sitting at 17th in the nation.

This is the highest ranking the Eagles have seen since it was No. 14 in the nation back on Nov. 4, 2015.

C-N is at the top of the South Atlantic Conference standings with an 8-2-1 record, 4-1-1 in league matchups.

The Eagles move into the national rankings after taking down No. 15 Coker on Saturday, 1-0, in double overtime. It was the team's first win over a nationally-ranked team since Sept. 21, 2017 when it defeated a No. 5 Lenoir-Rhyne squad. It is also the first time since Nov. 24, 2013 that C-N has taken down a ranked opponent on its home field when it defeated No. 4 Rollins.

C-N has a trio of clean sheets on the season now after the victory. It's among the top five in the nation with 216 total shots and 19.64 shots per game.

No other SAC teams are represented in the top 25.
