Men ranked 22nd, women receiving votes in new CSCAA poll

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman men's swim team has been ranked 22nd in the nation by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, who published their initial poll of the season on Thursday. The women's team is also receiving the most votes in the rankings among teams that are not in the top 25.

The men's team is coming off a 185-77 win over the Limestone Saints in C-N's first dual meet of the season. Coach Jordan Taylor's squad won 13 of the day's 14 events over Limestone on their way to victory. The women's team toppled the Saints, 201-57.

The Eagles are one of three teams out of the Bluegrass Mountain Conference to earn a spot in the rankings. Queens (N.C.), the two-time defending national champions, owns the second spot while Wingate sits 13th.

The rankings are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and released on a monthly basis. The next polls as scheduled to be released on November 16, 2016.
