INDIANAPOLIS – The Carson-Newman men's swimming team has jumped nine spots to No. 11 in the latest CollegeSwimming national polls announced this morning.

Jordan Taylor's side began the year pegged as the No. 20 team in the nation, but a victory over No. 10 Wingate alone to start the season at home helped the Eagles case.

C-N fought against the Bulldogs once again the Emory Invitational a few weeks following the dual meet in Jefferson City, Tenn. The Eagles topped Catawba over the two-day invite who currently ranks 29th.

The group also comes off a dominating home win against Lees-McRae on Saturday, Nov. 10 in which both teams combined grabbed 19 out of 20 events on the afternoon in the 253.5 to 71.5 final.

"I'm delighted with the improvement to our national standing," Taylor said. "That was one of our goals going into the meet. Race hard in each of the events and improve on season-best swims which in turn would prepare us for upcoming meets and help toward these rankings. The team has really worked hard the past three months and has been able to get some really impressive times."

The C-N women's side fell 11 spots to No. 29 in the country after beginning the season at No. 18.

The Eagles turn their heads toward the University of Tennessee Invitational at the end of the month. It's the second-straight season in which Taylor's troops will compete over the three-day meet as they will be the only Division II program in attendance.
