
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team defeated the University of the Cumberlands, 6-3, on Friday afternoon.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 9-6 on the season.
C-N started strong by taking two of the three doubles points. Juniors Chris Acker (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Adriano Kira (Brazil) won at No. 2 doubles, while Jack Harvie (Snellville, Ga.) and Greg Center (Brentwood, Tenn.) won the No. 3 doubles match.
In singles action, the Eagles won four of the six matches. Winners were Kira (No. 3), Harvie (No. 4), Derek Holdway (No. 5) and Acker (No. 6).
C-N returns to the court against North Georgia on Sunday in Dahlonega, Ga.
