ORLANDO, Fla. – Carson-Newman sophomore men's tennis player Marnix Van Dalen has locked up a spot on the College Sports Communicators (ne' CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.
With the placement, Van Dalen becomes eligible for the CSC Academic All-America team.
This is the third postseason accolade for Van Dalen this year. A second-team All-SAC pick for singles play, Van Dalen finished third on the team with 12 singles victories, primarily at second singles. He had nine of his 12 wins at that spot and went 8-3 against league opponents.
After leading the team in doubles victories, Van Dalen and Lars Hordijk landed second-team all-conference doubles honors. This season, the duo was 12-1, including ten wins against conference foes. The pair finished the regular season on a four-game win streak.
