ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the third time in her junior season, Haris Price was named the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Since the SAC began announcing players of the week during the 2006-07 season, Price is the first C-N player to be lauded three times. Zoriah Williams picked up a pair of plaudits during the 2011-12 season.

"I am honored to be able to get a few of those," Price stated. "You get noticed when your team is starting to get noticed. I think that's where I really owe everything to my team. Individual awards are awesome but it all starts with where your team is."

In a pair of victories over Lincoln Memorial and Newberry, the Gatlinburg, Tenn. native scored 50 points going 16-for-28 from the floor, 7-for-13 from long range and 11-for-12 at the free-throw line. The guard added 13 assists and five steals on the week.

To begin the week against Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, Price scored a career-high 38 points going 11-for-18 from the field with nine assists on the night. Her effort was the most for a Carson-Newman player since Brooke Johnson scored 39 points against Clayton State on March 12, 2005, 4,694 days ago.

In a 37-point blowout of Newberry on Saturday, the junior registered 12 points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

As the team's point guard, Price has the led the team to top-10 national rankings in 11 statistical categories including being third in scoring at 94.3 points per game and scoring margin at 26.5. The Lady Eagles are second in the nation with 20.8 assists per game and seventh with 243 steals.

"Having more players that you can turn and that you don't have a couple that you have to focus in on," Price assessed. "You don't have to look at a certain amount of us to score. I think that takes a lot of pressure off of you. Being healthy [this season] definitely plays a factor in that. Overall having my teammates have my back has helped."

Individually she is eighth in the country with 59 total steals averaging 3.11 per game, the best in the league on the year. Price is fourth in the conference in scoring at 16.9 points per game shooting just over 50 percent on the year.

She ranks second in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.96 and third in assists with 90 for an average of 4.7 per night. Price is shooting 81 percent from the free-throw line to rank third.
