Camp Brochure

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women's basketball coach Mike Mincey announced Monday  that the annual Lady Eagle Basketball Camp will be held from June 3-5 at Holt Fieldhouse for second through eighth graders running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

Players can expect individual instruction and drills for passing and receiving, ball handling, jump shooting and defensive fundamentals among other techniques. Grades two through five and six through eight will be separated to allow the groups to go at a different pace.

The cost per camper is 70 dollars and includes a t-shirt and the opportunity to win prizes throughout the week. Games will be played on a daily basis for further chances to win prizes. Fill out the form by clicking here and returning to the women's basketball office listed in the brochure.

It is a chance to learn from a program that has won at least 20 games in three straight seasons and has led the South Atlantic Conference in scoring in each of the last six years. Carson-Newman was second in the country in free-throw shooting and finished in the top 10 nationally in scoring for a second campaign in-a-row.

Mincey will serve as the camp director. He was the SAC Coach of the Year and Women's Basketball Coaches' Association Region Coach of the Year in 2017-18. In 2018-19, he became the seventh coach in the history of the conference to tally 100 SAC wins.

Assistant coach Tatum Burstrom, the program's all-time leader in three-pointers, will serve as one of the three instructors helping Mincey. She was named to the WBCA's Thirty Under 30 as one of the top young coaches in all of women's basketball.

Two-time All-American and SAC Player of the Year Haris Price returns to help the camp. She finished her playing career in the top 10 on the school's list in three areas including finishing seventh in scoring.

Kailyn Brooks returns to Mossy Creek as the fourth instructor. A two-time All-SAC selection, Brooks set the school's single season three-point record draining 83 as a senior in 2016-17. She sits in third on the C-N three-pointer list.

To sign up, the form can be found by clicking here as checks need to be made payable to "Mike Mincey, Lady Eagle Basketball Camp".
